John T. Walters
John T. Walters, Sr, age 71, of Dubuque, IA, completed his earthly journey on August 23, 2026, at home while surrounded by his loving family. To honor John’s life, his Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-7:00p.m., on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Dubuque American Legion Post #6, 1306 Delhi Street. Burial will be in the Still Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY, at a later date. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving John’s family.
John was born on July 31, 1955, in Chicago, IL, a son to John F. and Ina L. (Still) Walters.
John was a hardworking man who spent his life working in retail security, taking pride in providing for his family and staying busy.
He cherished the time he spent with his granddaughter and great-granddaughters. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed spending time outside. He loved watching the dogs run and play. Above all, he found joy in the simple moments with people and things he loved.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy J. Walters; his sister, Deborah Durrant; his brother-in-law, Michael Remick; and his father and mother-in-law, James and Phyllis (Ashbacher) Wilder.
