Jeffery Ney, 55, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Visitation will be from 8:30 am until 9:45 am Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Church of the Resurrection.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffery will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Church of the Resurrection with Father Michael Schueller as the Celebrant. Private family burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

Jeffery was born February 4, 1971, in Dubuque, Iowa, to LaVern and Joyce (Bertling) Ney, Jeffery was a spirited and youngest addition to the family. Often described as a child at heart, Jeffery found joy in music and especially loved Cher, even attending one of her concerts with his sister, Robin. He had a playful spirit and found happiness in the things he loved.

Jeffery suffered a traumatic brain injury at a young age that greatly impacted the course of his life. Despite the challenges he faced, Jeffery remained deeply loved by his family, who will remember his unique personality and the special place he held within their family.

He is survived by his siblings, Marvin (Maria) Ney of Peosta, IA, Robin Ney of Dubuque, and Kenny Ney of Dubuque; his nephew, Andy Ney; and his nieces, Alicia (Jack) Ludescher, Christina (fiancé, Eric) Ney, and Emily (Isaac) Bruns.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jeffery’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to thank the providers and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque, Paramount Ambulance, and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care they provided Jeffery and his family during his final days and for helping make his transition peaceful.
