Judith Ann Genz, age 83, of Dubuque, formerly of St. Mary’s Apartments, passed away at 8:25a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Stonehill Care Center.  To celebrate Judy’s life, family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, Dubuque.  At 5:30 p.m., family and friends will be sharing memories of Judy and celebrating her life.  Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at a later date.

Judy was born on November 2, 1942, in Lancaster, WI, the daughter of Clement and Freda (Taylor) Graham.

She attended Dubuque Senior High School, followed by art school in Omaha, Nebraska.  She worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic artist at Brown Publishing Company in Dubuque periodically from 1969 until the early 1990’s.  Judy was a longtime member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Dubuque.  Her passion for art was evident in the things she enjoyed most.  She loved writing poetry and short stories and was also an accomplished artist.  She was well known for her paintings of Dubuque landmarks and pets.  She regularly sold her work at the Dubuque Farmers Market.  In her free time, Judy also enjoyed reading, playing cards, attending meetings at St. Mary’s Apartments and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish Judy’s memory include

Donna Marie (Karl Howeth) Bebo, Dubuque, IA;

9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren;

and nieces and nephews
Bob (Mary Jo) Reding, Jr.,
Ron (Chrysanne) Reding,
Laure (Rick) Ward
and Sue (Don) Dietz.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Florence (Bob) Reding; and her brother, John Graham.

Judy’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Stonehill and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care.  Also a very special thanks to her niece, Laure, for all of the loving care and support she has provided Judy and her family, we cannot thank you enough for all you have done.
