Molly Marie Steil Rowland, age 53, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following a twenty-month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Molly was born on March 11, 1973, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Leonard A. “Lenny” and Jude A. (Rolling) Steil. She was a graduate of Bettendorf High School and the University of Iowa.

Molly was united in marriage to David A. Rowland on June 19, 2010, at St. John Vianney Church in Bettendorf. She was the CPO at Hand in Hand an inclusive community center. Molly’s greatest joy was taking care of her son Milo, loving her family, and challenging her community.

Molly is survived by her husband, David; her son Milo; her mother, Jude Steil of Bettendorf; siblings, Patrick (Julie) Steil of Denver, CO, Marty (Schantel) Steil of Dubuque, IA, Amy Steil (Tim Connors) of Omaha, NE, and Libby Theisen of St. Augustine, FL; her aunt, Mary Jo (Jerry) Lange of East Dubuque, IL; many nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Pamela (Donald) Chambers.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at St. Joan of Arc Parish-Vianney Campus, 4097 18th St., in Bettendorf, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, with Fr. Richard Adam officiating. Burial will be at a later date in East Dubuque Cemetery.
