Pat was born August 28, 1943, on the family farm in Hanover, the daughter of Arnold and Eleanor (Schoenfeld) Kriebs. She attended country school in her childhood and graduated from Elizbeth High School in 1961. She married Raymond Ertmer on July 17, 1965, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Galena and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2006. Pat worked at Atwoods in Stockton, after High School, until their marriage. She and Ray farmed on his family farm for 32 years. After retiring, she worked at Knautz’s Home Furnishings and Galena Cellars Winery in Galena.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was selfless and always made sure everyone around her had what they needed before herself. The most joy in her later life came from watching her grandchildren and spending time with them. She loved portraying Julia Grant and playing cards.

Surviving are her children, Dan (Angie) Ertmer, Mark (Lesley) Ertmer, Tina (Mike) Knautz, and Cindy (Larry Sickles) Kevern, seven grandchildren, Jamie and Tristan Ertmer, Mackenzie and Mikayla Knautz, and Riley, Braden and Caleb Kevern; five sisters Diane (Dave) Furlong, Arlene Geross, Lois (Charlie) Petsche, Vickie (Brad) Offenheiser, Holly Kriebs; two brothers Mike Kriebs, Joe Kriebs; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, her parents, four sisters Carol Banner, Gerri James, Linda Nadig, and Bonnie Doune; three brothers Ed, Louis and Peter Kriebs (in infancy).

The family requests no flowers. The family would like to thank Midwest Community Care for her care in recent months, Dr Greg Vandigo and Hospice of Dubuque.
