Patsy Eileen (Mills) Davis of Dubuque, Iowa didn’t just love her family; she anchored us. It is with profound sadness that we announce our anchor was peacefully lifted on Friday, September 25, 2026, when Patsy passed away at the age of 58.

Please join us on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, to celebrate the life of such a wonderful person.

Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find comfort in the extraordinary life she lived and the countless ways she touched those around her. Patsy was a source of unwavering strength, fierce loyalty, and unconditional love. Whether offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or simply her steady presence, she had a remarkable gift for making others feel safe, valued, and loved.

Born on October 22, 1967, in Galesburg, Illinois, Patsy was the daughter of Eleanor Mills. She learned to genuinely care for others, was taught the value of perseverance, and came to understand that family isn’t always simply those with whom you share DNA. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome, accepted, and loved. Her heart was especially open to those who needed encouragement, a second chance, or simply someone willing to listen. She believed that kindness cost nothing, yet could mean everything.

On August 20, 2011, Patsy married her soulmate, Brian Davis of Dubuque, Iowa. Brian showed her what it meant to be sincerely happy, what true love felt like, and what it meant to have a partner who would walk beside her through life. He also inspired in her a deep love for the ocean, and whenever her heart longed for the sea, Brian made sure to take her there. Together, they shared a love rooted in adventure, devotion, and the simple joy of experiencing life side by side.

Patsy was proud of being a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she devoted herself to creating memories, celebrating accomplishments, and helping carry the burdens of those she loved. Whether through a phone call, a home-cooked meal, or words of reassurance, she had a way of making people feel cared for long after the moment had passed.

Patsy’s laughter could brighten the room, and her strength could steady those around her. She faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, never allowing hardship to diminish her compassion for others. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone, fortunate enough to know her.

Patsy will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: her husband Brian Davis and their dog Willow; father-in-law, Wally Davis; her children and grandchildren Nicole, Mark, and Breanna Gunderson; Bobby, Robyn, Jayden, Axel, and Zelda Rogers and Hailee and Asher Engaldo; Zack Rogers and Andy Schiltz. Her siblings and siblings-in-law; Sue & Robert Feldpausch; David Mills; Sheryl & John Hove; and Jamie & Ronda Mills; Kevin and Stacie Davis; Scott Davis; Chad Davis; Dominique and Josh Vondran, Danielle and Brandon Meng along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor; mother-in-law, Cookie Davis; sister-in-law, Dea Mills; sister-in-law, Shannon Davis; her son, Neil Grayum; and her fur-babies, Frank, Buddy, and Hazel.

As the sun sets on the life Patsy lived, we imagine her sitting on the beach with her toes in the sand, free from pain and surrounded by peace. Though we cannot see her, her love will remain as endless as the sea.
