Richard “Dick” Eggers, 68 of Bellevue, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Mercy One in Dubuque.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.  Family will greet friends 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, additional visitation will be held 9:30 am – 10:30 am prior to Mass at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Andrew.

Dick was born on July 16, 1958, in Maquoketa, the son of Richard D. and Delores (Hingtgen) Eggers. He graduated from Andrew High School and farmed alongside his parents and later continued the family farming tradition with his son, Josh, outside of Andrew.  Dick also served as a volunteer fireman and a trustee for the Andrew Fire Department for many years.

Dick enjoyed golfing, hunting, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. He especially loved spending time in the timber, where he found peace and felt a close connection to God. Above all, Dick adored his grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. They brought him great joy and held a special place in his heart.

Survivors include his children, Bryan (Tami) Eggers, Josh (Morgan) Eggers, and Taryn (Justin) Clark; his grandchildren, Kennedy, Briley, Emery, Taven, Cora, Harper, Reya, and Hayden; and his siblings and in-laws, Randy (Lori) Eggers, Deborah (Karl) Malouff, Jacki McClaflin, and Dennis Heiar.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Jo Heiar; and his brother-in-law, Doug.
