Gary Kane, 72, of Sunnycrest Manor in Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026, at MercyOne Medical Center.

A private family burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Gary was born November 29, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Karl and Dorothy (Thompson) Kane. Gary graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.

After serving in the United States Army, Gary spent his working years driving semi across the United States.

Gary was united in marriage with Bobbi Jo Kelly on October 30, 2025.

Gary enjoyed collecting matchbox cars, building toy model cars, playing Bingo, trips to Walmart, and watching MASH.

Those left to cherish Gary’s memory are his wife, Bobbi Jo; sister, Jane Fishler; along with several special nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his daughter; Michelle Kane; his parents, Karl and Dorothy (Thompson) Kane; his sister, Donna Pike; and his brothers Karl and Michael Kane.
