Sheila A. Germaine
Sheila Ann (Graham) Germaine, 76, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on August 19, 2026 at Stonehill Health Center.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Deacon David Roth officiating. Private family burial of Sheila and her husband Bart will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
Sheila was born on November 29, 1949, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and M. Elaine (O’Brien) Graham. She attended St. Patrick’s grade school, class of 1964 and graduated from Wahlert High School in 1968.
Sheila married Bart Germaine on July 29, 1972, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2019.
Over the years, Sheila worked for Bell Telephone in Kansas City and Dubuque, Continental Airlines, Table Mound School, Dubuque Bank and Trust, and Loras College, where she retired in 2015.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, learning about her Irish heritage, and traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Sheila is survived by her two children Jason (Alyssa) Germaine and Julie (Jim) Earp; grandchildren: Kaily (Andrew) Belken, Aiden Germaine, Owen Earp, Emmer Moen, Elli Moen, and Max Hrubes. Great grandchildren: Henley Belken, Casen Belken and Crue Belken. Siblings: Bill (Jackie) Graham, Robert (Samantha) Graham and Molly (Mike) Casey. Sisters-in-law, Mary Trenkamp, Leslie (John) Oswald and brother-in-law Roger Ege. Niece and nephews Ginny Lindgren, Tom Casey, Tim Casey, Jackson Graham, Shane Oswald, Kirk Oswald, Carl Ege and Russell Trenkamp.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elaine Graham; her husband Bart, in-laws Leslie and Mary Germaine; her sister Peggy Ketch; sister-in-law Charmaine Ege; and brother-in-law Anthony Trenkamp.
In lieu of flowers a Sheila Germaine memorial fund will be established.
The family would like to thank the healthcare professionals at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Stonehill Health Center, and Hospice of Dubuque for the compassionate care they provided to Sheila and her family.
