Sr. Viviana Harman, BVM
Sister Viviana Harman, BVM, 93, of Mount Carmel Bluffs, 1160 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa, died Sunday, March 31, 2024.
Visitation will be from 9-9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the Mary Frances Clarke Chapel at Mount Carmel Bluffs. Sharing of Memories will be at 9:30 a.m., followed immediately by the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial is in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Sister Viviana was an elementary and/or music teacher in Council Bluffs, Iowa; Glendale, Calif.; San Francisco, and Los Angeles. She served as a researcher and consultant for the National Keyboard Arts Association.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1930, in Beverly Hills, Calif., to Gerald, Sr., and Vivian (Williams) Harman. She entered the BVM congregation Sept. 8, 1954, from Good Shepherd Parish, Beverly Hills, Calif. She professed first vows on March 19, 1957, and final vows on July 16, 1962.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles Harman and Gerald Harman, Jr. She is survived by cousins, and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared life for 69 years.
