Susan “Sue” (Lippstock) Link, age 61, passed away on March 22, 2024, after a long courageous battle with multiple health issues.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Rev. Kyle Conant officiating. Additional visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Sue was born on November 28, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Eldon and Barbara (Kilby) Lippstock. She married Greg Link on September 9, 2006, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Sue was most recently employed as a Group Home House Lead at Goodwill Industries for the last 20 years, leaving reluctantly due to illness. Her Goodwill clients were family to her. Sue also previously worked at Belden Jewelers, Staples, and Crescent Electric.
Sue enjoyed camping, bingo, and playing volleyball. She was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan who enjoyed watching and attending games and Cubs conventions. Sue loved cooking and baking for family events and arranging bus trips for shopping and Cubs games for family and friends. Sue was a caring person who enjoyed looking after all the people in her life. She checked in regularly to make sure everyone else was doing ok regardless of any troubles going on in her own life. Sue belonged to the Kiwanis Club of Dubuque.
Survivors include her husband, Greg; her bonus children whom she loved very much, Brian Link and Raelyn Hendricks; her sisters-in-law, Joy (Mike) Behnke, Jean (Mark) Kohn, Phyllis, Linda, and Carol Link; her brother-in-law Dave (Judy) Link; her siblings, Jeff (Kim) Lippstock, Peter “PJ” Lippstock, and Pam Lippstock Miller, all of Dubuque; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her uncle, K. Robert (Angie) Kilby; her mother-in-law, Esther Link; her father-in-law, Marion Link; her brothers-in-law Gerald “Jerry” and James “Jim” Link.
We would like to thank Dr. Schreiber and Dr. Hermann, Sara Jo and Zoey, the Hospice of Dubuque staff, as well as the numerous nurses and staff at Finley Hospital that provided Sue with care and comfort throughout her illnesses.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be donated to Kiwanis, Goodwill, or St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
