Terrence J. “Terry” McGovern, 74, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on March 12^th, 2024, at UnityPoint Health, Finley Hospital.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15^th, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A private burial will be at St. John The Baptist Cemetery in Centralia at a later date.

Terry was born on March 18, 1949, in Peosta, Iowa the son of Clem and Gertrude (Schmitt) McGovern.  He married Elizabeth “Betty” Tigges on April 19, 1969. He worked at William C. Brown Publishing and McGraw Hill.

Terry was an avid handyman and craftsman; and he enjoyed anything to do with cars.

He is survived by his wife Betty; sons Craig and Shane (Molly); grandchildren Brooklyn, Evelyn, Kallen, Arlo, Louie and Hayden. Brothers Don (Julie) McGovern and Ron (Janet) Rolwes; his sister Marlene Golinvaux along with many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; his son Todd McGovern, brothers-in-law Mike Tigges, and Steve Golinvaux and a great nephew Cade McGovern.

In lieu of flowers a Terry McGovern memorial fund will be established.
