Timothy W. Kammeyer

Timothy W. “Tim” Kammeyer, 78, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Jackson Ridge Health Care Center, Maquoketa.

Timothy Wayne Kammeyer was born on August 11, 1948, in Woodburn, Indiana, to Arnold and Norabelle (Avey) Kammeyer. He graduated from Woodburn High School. Tim was united in marriage to Rose Ann Schlink on November 26, 1971, in New Haven, Indiana. Together they moved to Maquoketa to pursue a life farming. Rose preceded Tim in death on January 5, 2017.

Tim spent his life farming in the Farmer’s Creek Township in Jackson County. Later in life he became a school bus driver for the Andrew School District. Tim enjoyed restoring old LP Tractors, often getting a helping hand from his grandson’s. Tim was also very active in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monticello, Iowa, where he spent many years as the church organist.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Matt Kammeyer of Maquoketa, IA, and Barbara Kammeyer of Maquoketa; grandchildren Jessica Dawson, Alex Kammeyer and Dylan Kammeyer, great grandson Duane Dawson; and brother Steve (Gwen) Kammeyer of Woodburn, IN. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rose Kammeyer; and brother John Kammeyer.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Monticello, IA. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center, Maquoketa.
