Joseph D. Behnke
Joseph D. “Joe’ Behnke, age 83, of Hazel Green, WI, completed his earthly journey on November 30, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family and constant companion, Bud. To honor Joe’s life, a private family service is being held. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Joe’s family.
Joe was born on April 15, 1939, in Dubuque, IA, to Herman and Ruth (Frommelt) Behnke. Joe was a man who was loved by everyone he met and always enjoyed living a simple life, but most importantly on his terms. He was united in marriage to Joy K. VanVleck on December 27, 1958. Together they raised a family of their own which brought them great joy watching them grow up and start their own families. Sadly, Joy was called home ahead of him by many years, but her presence remained in his heart. Joe was a pressman at Gartner Printing Co. for 45 years and finished out his working years at Key City Recycling until he finally retired. He enjoyed the quiet life at that point, but never passed up a chance to do a little fishing or camping whenever the opportunity arose. But, truth be known, Joe’s greatest joy in this life was when his family, and especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren were by his side. Any gathering of the family would suffice as a perfect day in Joe’s eyes. We will miss Joe and his unique attitude moving forward, but will be forever grateful for the years he proudly served as our patriarch. Thank you, Dad, for continually reminding us that life is what we make it and keeping it simple can be the greatest choice of all.
Those left behind to cherish the memory of Joe include,

Bobbie made the most out of each day and always kept it simple. Thankfully, the memories he leaves behind will help to heal the broken hearts of all who knew and loved him in time as well. Jill Juliann Kiebler passed away at 8am on Saturday, November 26th, 2022. She was surrounded by her family and her friends. She was 65 years old.
Jill was born on April 9th, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa. She graduated with honors from Leesburg Senior High School in Leesburg, Florida. After having four children, one with special-needs, she went to college where she made the dean’s list (summa cum laude), and earned her degree in accounting.
She was a devoted mother, craft enthusiast, bowled in a league, and managed retail stores in Dubuque. She founded an online crochet and knitting forum where women from all over the world gathered, sharing their love and passion for knitting and crocheting. They created, organized, and donated “Lapghan” blankets, which were inspired by her daughter Elena’s needs for warmth, comfort, and style while in her wheelchair. She also crocheted and knitted hats and scarves for the Special Olympics.
She was a passionately curious lifetime seeker of knowledge; an avid reader, loved science-fiction, and was fascinated by space exploration and the unknown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Warren Kiebler and MaryAnn Miller Kiebler; her stepfather, Timothy Wright; her sister, Kristina E. Brown; and her brothers, Thomas, Jeffrey, and Eric Kiebler.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Lyons (Mike), Lucas Albert (Amber), Megan Kiebler (Matthew Hauck), and Elena Kiebler; her grandchildren, Jacob, Jillian, Lexi, Aidan, Jeremy, Caleb, Kiley, Drew, and MaryAnn; her brother, Todd Kiebler; her sisters, Holly Kiebler-Hurm (Michael) and Jenni Jungers; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is also survived by the love of her life, former husband, friend, and confidant Terry Albert. They remained close and loved one another dearly. The entire family wishes to give special recognition to Terry for his enduring love and devotion to our loving mother and sister.
A special thanks to Jesse Theisen who helped care for her throughout the last year of her life. They shared many cups of coffee, her’s always strong and black, their love of Star Trek, and an everlasting friendship.
We would also like to thank her phenomenal team of nurses, case workers, massage therapists, and bath aids at Hospice of Dubuque for their warmth, kindness, and care.
Jill embodied patience, kindness, generosity, and an unconditional love and devotion to her family. We do not know how we are going to live without her, and will miss her deeply. Her strength, humor, kindness, and love will live on through all of us.
A private family celebration of life service will be held in December.

Pamela K. Arensdorf
Pamela Kay (Barry) Arensdorf, 70, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on November 27th, 2022, at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 1st, 2022, at the funeral home with Father Phillip Gibbs Officiating. Private family burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Pam was born on March 2, 1952, in Dubuque IA; the daughter of Alan and Rita (Wagner) Barry. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and received her CNA certificate from NICC. On July 26, 1997, she married Brett Arensdorf.
Pam was a stay-at-home mom for many years; she also owned the Oky Doky in East Dubuque in the 70’s, spent time as a paraprofessional with the school district, worked at Betty Jane Candies, Eagle Window and Door, and owned and Operated Instant Replay for 21 years before retiring in 2019. After retirement she worked for Hy-Vee on Locust in Dubuque.
She sponsored and played with many dart and pool leagues over the years. She also sponsored many softball leagues. Pam was always willing to help everyone who needed it. She made fabulous homemade meals over the years along with delicious pies; which she let the secret out just recently that the recipes were from the Betty Crocker cookbook!
She was very proud of the 5 children she raised along with the grandchildren and great granddaughter that were added to the family over the years. She made many friends over the years that she considered family. She was always their biggest fans; Pam worked hard over the years but played and had fun just as hard.
While she and Brett owned the Instant Replay they started a yearly tradition 18 years ago of hosting dart tournaments that had raised hundreds of toys over the years for Toys for Tots of Dubuque. They were very proud to be able to help the community. That tradition still continues even after she retired from the bar business. She was given the nickname “Red” by her family at Instant Replay due her infamous red hair. The nights she had karaoke at Instant Replay you could always find her singing her favorite songs or requesting the DJ sing her favorites for her. She always knew how to have a good time.
Pam always knew how to light up a room and make people laugh. She was never afraid to tell you what she thought. She was feisty when she needed to be, kind and caring most of the time but most importantly she loved hard. If she loved you, you knew it.
She loved working at Hy-Vee and was so anxious to get back. She definitely found a home there.
Pam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the most important thing to her. She will be missed more than words can describe. The world lost a bright light when she gained her angel wings.
She is survived by her husband Brett Arensdorf; children Mike (Melissa) Astgen, Laurie (Kelly) Walsh, Bob Astgen, Stephanie (Rod) Balk and Jeremy (Nicky) Astgen; her stepdaughter Tyler (Nick) Jones; 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Her siblings Pat (Liz) Barry, Vicki (Randy Church) Hill, Mary (Dennis) Groom, Bob (Stacy) Barry, and Tim Barry. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Marty and Sonja Arensdorf. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Tami Hill, Amy (Jerry) Turner and Drew Arensdorf, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alan and Rita Barry, a son in infancy William Joseph Astgen and brother Kevin Barry.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at MercyOne Medical Center, Dubuque Fire & EMS and UW Madison Hospital staff for the loving care and compassion given to Pam and her family.
