Jane Singsank

Jane Celeste Corbett Singsank, 100, of Dubuque, formerly of Burlington died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Jane will be 11:00 am Friday, September 10, 2021, at Cathedral of St. Raphael with Rev. Monsignor Thomas E. Toale as the Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of the service at Cathedral of St. Raphael.  The mass will be live streamed on Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home’s Facebook page and will also be available to view later at www.hskfhcares.com.  Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington.

Jane was born May 8, 1921, in Dubuque the daughter of John P. and Clotilda (Tilly) Burke Corbett. On June 5, 1948, she married Dr. Clarence Leander Singsank in St. Raphael Cathedral in Dubuque. He died June 13, 1994.

Jane was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables from her garden, and sewing clothes for her children. She was an avid volunteer with Mercy Hospital, running the Holiday Market and working in the gift shop, leading St. John’s PTA, and leading several Cub Scout packs and Girl Scout troops.

She was a member of Cathedral of St. Raphael in Dubuque and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Gorman of Arlington Heights, IL, and Kathleen (Richard) Bertram of CO; one son, Richard Singsank of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Kerry (Ryan) Huber, Sean (Nikki) Gorman, Kelly Pilcher, Bryan (Sydney) Pilcher; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Susan Pilcher, one son, Donald Singsank; three brothers, James Corbett, Paul Corbett, and Jack Corbett; three sisters, Stella Hedrick, Martha Corbett and Marcella Corbett; one brother-in-law, Ralph Hedrick, and three sisters-in-law, Lucille Corbett, Velma Corbett and Rose Corbett.

Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Crematory is in care of the arrangements.

Gary L. Jochum

Gary L. Jochum, 77, of Dubuque passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Trinity Church, with Fr. Steve Garner officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m.  to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 3rd, 2021, at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with a parish wake service at 8:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, at the church until Mass time.

Gary was born on May 28, 1944, in Dubuque the son of Francis and Leona (Maiers) Jochum. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1962. On June 13, 1964, he married Donna Mae Avenarius at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and they shared 57 wonderful years together. He worked for Dubuque John Deere Tractor Works for 37 years as a supervisor on the engine line until his retirement in 2001. He was a very active member of Holy Trinity Church, serving as a greeter, eucharistic minister, and on several committees.

Gary was a great family man. He was very active with his four sons and all their activities, including coaching Baseball and Basketball teams that they participated in. His family passion continued with his grandchildren, following all of them and their many sporting events and even a few dance recitals.

On his own he enjoyed golfing at Birchwood with his buddies, spending time at the Moose Lodge, and listening to good old time country music.

He is survived by his wife Donna; four sons, James (Rita) Jochum of Oakton, VA, Gary Jon (Angela) Jochum of Independence, MO, Rick (Andrea) Jochum of Dubuque, and Thomas (Rhonda) Jochum of Hazel Green, WI; ten grandchildren Shayla Jochum, Anna (Jacob) Shultz, Garrett, Adeline, Shanna, Samuel, Grant, Lily, Elena, and Gavin Jochum; a sister Carol Thul, Sister-in-law Delee Jochum; brother-in-law Richard (Mary Kay) Avenarius and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws Frank and Harriet Avenarius, and siblings and spouses, Mary (William) Fransen, Jeanne (Jerry) Meyer, Robert (Lynn) Jochum, Dorothy (Lyle) Reed, Patricia (David) Schumacher, Leone (George) Reed, Joan Wagner, David Thul, Wayne Jochum and Kenneth Neeley.

In lieu of flowers a Gary Jochum memorial fund has been established.

Arlene E. Breiner

Arlene Esther Breiner, 78 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away August 29, 2021 at Finley Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and children.  Private family services will be held at Lenard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Arlene was born on February 5, 1943, in Potosi, WI as the second eldest child of Joseph and Mary Elskamp. She married her husband Tom Breiner on November 28, 1964 they were blessed with 57 years together.

She worked several jobs over her career including a stay-at-home mom until her kids were in school and retired from Stonehill Care Center where she worked in the laundry department.

In her early years she enjoyed doing crafts such as cross-stitching and was an avid blood donor at the American Red Cross.  She was kind and companionate and always put her family first.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were constant fixtures in her house. It was a rare day when there wasn’t family at their house which she loved. She always showed you comfort and love when entered their home by either giving you something she baked or giving the kids a quick snack.  She enjoyed walks and visiting with the neighbors. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Arlene include, her husband, Tom Breiner of 57 years; three children Gary (Darci) Breiner, Janet Emerson, Scott Breiner of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandchildren Ryan (Rachel) Breiner, Jamie (Jeff) Hammerand, Rachael (Dylan) Carlson and Cassidy Emerson, along with her seven great grandchildren. Her siblings: Doris (Donny) Udelhofen and Joann (Pat) Koeller, of Potosi, WI, Juanita (Loren) Hilkin, of Dubuque, IA, Bill (Janie) Elskamp, of Abilene TX, Dave Elskamp, of Sacramento, CA and Daniel (Rhonda) Elskamp, of Davenport, IA and sisters-in-law Jane Elskamp and Judy Elskamp.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers Donny Elskamp, John Elskamp, Richard Elskamp and grandson Randy Breiner.

Roy L. Milczarek

Roy Lee Milczarek, 64, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his home.

At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. There will be no public visitation or services held at this time.  A a private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Brad C. Bell

Brad Christopher Bell, 39, of Dubuque, formerly of Bellevue, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021.  A time of sharing will be 11:30am, Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue.  Family will greet friends 10:00am -11:30am prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dubuque.

Brad was born January 26, 1982 in Long Beach, California.  He enjoyed time with his family and nieces and nephews.  Brad loved music and writing.  He most recently worked for Ensign Corporation in Bellevue.

Survivors include his mother, Eileen Ensign; siblings, Ericka (Hernan’) Droguett, Heidi (Bryce) Jones, Geoff Ensign, Liesl (David) Farwell, and Kurt (Jacquelyn) Ensign; nieces and nephews, Denison, Ethan, Lucas, Myles, Madelyn, Oliver, Mallory, Antonio, Knox, Elena, and Quinn; uncle and aunt, Steven and Joselyn Ensign.

Brad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Elaine Ensign; paternal grandparents, Robert and Ida May Bell; and cousin, Scott Tyler Ensign.

Sarah E. Kane

Sarah Elizabeth Kane, 29, of Chicago, died Monday, August 30, 2021.

Sarah was born August 26, 1992, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Kevin Thomas and Mary Lee Schneider Kane.

She earned her BFA from University of Dayton in Dayton, OH and worked in marketing for Shaker Recruitment in Oak Park.

Sarah was stylish and creative. She loved art, music, sculpting, building, and making things. She was a kind and generous soul who loved deeply and championed the underdog.

Survivors include her parents, Kevin and Mary Kane of Aurora, IL, two brothers, Austin (Kirsten Krueger) Kane of Eagan, MN, and Sean Kane of Chicago, IL; maternal grandma, Erma Schneider of Dubuque; aunts and uncles, Kim (Ed) Feyen of Dubuque, Kathy Kane of Dubuque, Sue (Eric) Branson of Dubuque, Kate (Mark) Derby of Dubuque, Jane (Paul) Ducham of LaGrange, IL, Sara Schneider of Dubuque, Joe (Judy) Schneider of Crystal Lake, IL, and Mike (Melanie) Schneider of Elmhurst, IL; and 24 cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Louise Kane, and  her maternal grandfather, Donald Schneider.

Marcelline M. Engelman

Marcelline “Marcy” M. (Sieverding) Engelman, 85, of Bellevue, passed away on Wednesday, September 01, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and Nikki (puppy).  Funeral Mass will be 1:00 pm, Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.  Local arrangements are entrusted with Hachmann-Mier Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue.

Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the St. Joseph Bellevue – Sts. Peter & Paul Springbrook Facebook page, on their You Tube Channel and on Bellevue Cable TV Channel 37.

Marcy was born April 20, 1936 in Bellevue, the daughter of Lawrence and Lucille (Dempewolf) Sieverding.  She married Robert “Bob” Engelman on August 4, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, he passed on May 10, 2021.  Marcy graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1954.   Marcy always had horses and dogs.  She loved being with her family, Sunday night dinners with family, babies, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.  Marcy and Bob loved taking the kids camping while growing up.  She loved time with her friends and an occasional trip to the casino and had many good times during girls “Happy Hour”.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Betty) Engelman, Curt Engelman, Jane (Jeff) Gonner, Jill (Loras) Herrig, and Jackie (Rick) Keil; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way; her puppy, Nikki; siblings, Paul Sieverding, Charles Sieverding, Carol Armstrong, Mary Jane (Tom) McConaghy, Susan (Hugh) Engling; a sister in-law Jan Sieverding; and many other extended relatives.

Marcy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; father and mother in-law, Edwin and Mary Engelman Yost; siblings, Francis Sieverding, Ruth Ann Womeldorf, Lawrence Sieverding, and Janet McFadden.

Bonnie J. Molid

Bonnie Jean (Fischer) Molid, 67, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 10:00 am at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd., with Rev. Will Layton presiding, visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 am. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.

Bonnie was born in Monticello, Iowa to the parents of Lawrence and Esther (Loeffelholz) Fischer.

Bonnie loved gardening, flowers, and animals. She especially loved her birds, Gus and Speckles, crocheting and sewing.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert Molid, four brothers, Ken of Monticello, Bob of North Liberty, Ed (Linda) of Kalona and Paul of Texas. Five sisters, Janet (Ronald) Cook of Dubuque, Debbie Watters of Maquoketa, Joan Stewart of Florida, Connie Carroll of North Carolina, Sheila (Dan) Heacock, of Dubuque. Also, two sisters-in-law, Karen Trapp, Aberdeen, S.D. and Patricia (Terry) Melius of Lampe, Mo.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Esther Fischer, two brothers, Marvin and Wayne, one sister, Mary Fischer, one niece, Liesel Fischer and one nephew Kevin Arterberry.

Bonnies family would like to thank the care givers of Hospice, Karen, Sara, Shirley, Becky and Nikki.

Kenneth R. Thill

Kenneth Raphael Thill, 103, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Oak Park Place surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.  Due to the current pandemic, masks are recommended.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Ken will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.  Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.  Full military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Post #6 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honor Guard.  The mass will be live streamed on Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home’s Facebook page and will also be available to view later at www.hskfhcares.com.

Ken was born June 27, 1918, in Dubuque, the son of August J. and Daisy M. (Norman) Thill. On June 26, 1946, he married Helen Rita Herbst in St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the World War II from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945.

Ken owned and operated an auto body repair shop for many years.  He also worked part-time for the Dubuque Packing Company and Frommelt Industries as a contract janitorial service.

He was a long-time member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #6.

Ken enjoyed hunting, gardening, bowling and playing Euchre.  Prior to moving to Oak Park Place, he and Helen lived at Brunskill Road in a house that they built themselves.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of Dubuque; two daughters, Iyla (Robert) Ferguson of Long Grove, IA and Terri (Kent) Krueger of Ankeny, IA; one son, Thomas (Cheryl) Thill of Canton, IL; six grandchildren, Kelli (Chris Miller) Aaron, Kerri (Tom) Stevens, John Mistretta, Justin (Kuqra Ladrigan) Mistretta, Andy Uppole and Zach (Katy) Uppole; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, August Jr., Eldon, Glenn and five sisters, Daisy Joos, Mae Lou Grutz, Ruth Mary “Boots” Siegert, Charlene “Char” Kopp and Marguerite “Mugsy” Thill.

A memorial has been established.

Mary Lou Hubbard

Mary Lou Hubbard, 93, of Asbury, IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 29th, 2021, at Stonehill Health Center.  A visitation will be on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.

Mary was born in Hazel Green, WI, on May 19th, 1928, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Williams) Dawson. She attended New Diggins and Cuba City Schools. On August 13th, 1949, she was united in marriage to Herman Dean Hubbard at The Methodist Church in Benton, WI. Together they shared 72 years of marriage.  Mary enjoyed working various positions outside the home. Those include postal clerk at The Contract Post Office, Naval Hospital, Beaufort, SC.; personnel office, Naval Air Station, Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada; and purchasing assistant in the material management dept. of Penrose Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO. Retiring in 1990, Mary and Dean settled in Asbury, IA. Mary enjoyed traveling, golf, visiting small town museums to learn the history of the area. Most of all, she loved her family.

Mary is survived by her husband Dean, daughter Mary Ann (Al) Tischuk, grandson Alex (Julie) Tischuk, granddaughter Mary Kay (Dennis) Buchheit, and four great grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Tischuk, and Katie and Emily Buchheit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Jack.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Stonehill Health center and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful loving care that was provided to Mary and Family.

Deanna M. Boardman

Deanna Marie Boardman, 59, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on August 28, 2021, at home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021, Happy’s Place, 2323 Rockdale Road. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, IA is assisting the family.

Deanna was born on February 13, 1962, in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of William and Lee (Wunderlich) Latham. She graduated from Hempstead High School in Dubuque and later attended NICC. She married Mark Boardman in 2007 in Dubuque.

She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting, spending time with her family especially her great nieces and nephew; she was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Deanna was a selfless person who enjoyed doing things for others especially baking and cooking.

She is survived by her husband Mark; her daughter Stephanie Maiers; her parents William and Lee Latham; two brothers Todd (Lisa) Latham and Billy (Tina) Latham; her sister Jodi (Ron) Benson; nieces and nephews Crystal Parker, Ashley Apodaca, T.J. Latham, Dustin Benson, Beau Benson and Jake Benson along with great nieces and a great nephew; brother-in-law David and Diane Boardman and their children Allison Boardman and Kyle Boardman.

She was preceded in death by her uncle and Godfather Ray Latham and her grandmother Ruth Latham.

The family wishes to thank the Dubuque Fire and EMS Department, Tri-State Dialysis and Dr. Hillard Salas for all their care, kindness and compassion.

Carol Y. Armstrong

Carol Y. Armstrong, age 58, of Dubuque, passed away unexpectedly at 4:27 p.m., on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at her home.  To celebrate Carol’s life, private family services were held.  Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, is assisting the family.

Carol was born on December 5, 1962, in Hammond, Indiana, daughter of Lawrence and Janice (Hines) Armstrong.

Carol graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago, Illinois, and went on to attend Kennedy King and Olive Harvey Colleges for elementary education.  After graduation, Carol went to work for Tiny Tots Villa teaching preschool, a job which she truly loved and devoted over 20 years of her life to.  After moving to Dubuque, Carol went to work with the daycare center at Holy Ghost School, until she was forced into early retirement due to her health issues.  She was a very faith filled woman who shared freely of her time and talents with Lighthouse Baptist Church.  Her family was always at the top of Carol’s priority list, and she cherished all of the time she spent with them.  She loved looking after her nieces and nephews and sharing her knowledge and life experiences with them.  Carol was always taking care of everyone and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her!

Joyce E. Loomis

Joyce E. Loomis, 80, of Dubuque, passed away August 30, 2021 from a courageous battle with cancer.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory where a prayer service will be held at 5:00 pm followed by visitation until 7:00 pm.

Joyce was born March 6, 1941 at Rural Prairie du Chien, WI to John & Irene Olsen Fishler, the 3rd of nine children.  At age 3 the family moved into Prairie du Chien.  Joyce attended St. Gabriels’ School and graduated from Prairie High School 1959.  Joyce moved to Dubuque Iowa after graduation, attended Bayless Business College, worked at Mercy Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide, and a stenographer at Farley & Loetscher in Dubuque.  On Dec 3rd 1960 Joyce married Garry Mearl Redman at St. Gabriel Church.  On Jan 2nd, 1961 Garry passed away from complications due to a car accident.  Their son Garry John was born May 10th, 1961.  Joyce later married Harold Joseph Loomis Sr. on April 28th, 1962.  Four more children were born, Sue, Tim, Mike, & Harold Jr.  Harold Sr. passed away November 8th, 2007.

Joyce was past president at UAW Local 94 Auxiliary #344, Secretary for VFW Auxiliary #508, volunteered at Holy Spirit Funeral dinners, and member of the Holy Spirit Rosary Society.  Harold & Joyce traveled coast to coast.  They visited their children along with other extended family members.  After 2007, Joyce and her sisters, Rose & Linda, enjoyed visiting their brothers & sisters around the country over the next 10 years.  When Joyce could not drive long distances, her and her sister Rose enjoyed taking Am Track to visit family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her children, Garry (Julie) Redman, Sue (Mike) Polkinghorn, Mike (Lisa) Loomis, and Tim Loomis, all of Dubuque, and Harold Jr. (Donna) Loomis of Ferndale, WA; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild (in December 2021); two sisters, Rose Weis of Dubuque and Linda Stuessy of Oklahoma; five brothers, Francis (Darlene) Fishler of Illinois, Donald (Natalia) Fishler of Arizona, Ronald Fishler of Tennessee, Bob (Cindy) Fishler of Wisconsin, and Jim (Penny) Fishler of Wisconsin; and in-laws, Larry & Mary Huff, Jan Eilders, Sharon & Steve Osbon, and Mary Ann Redman.

Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Shirley McDonald, one grandson, DJ Peterson, one nephew, John Fishler, and in-laws: Mary Ann & Clifford Pettit, Louie Weis, Harold McDonald, Steve Stuessy, Mary Fishler, Ann Fishler, Dick Eilders, Bill & Carol Palmer, David Redman, and Bob Robbins.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, Drs. Jill Powers, Mark Hermann, Tony Heir, Holy Spirit Parish Family, and all their staffs for their attentive, loving care.

Einar L. Johnson

Einar L. Johnson, Jr., 80, of Sabula, Iowa, passed away on Sunday morning, August 29, 2021, at his home.

At Peace Cremation Services have been provided by Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, and a private burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Monmouth, Iowa.

Einar Lauritz Johnson Jr. was born on January 2, 1941, in Clinton, Iowa, to Einar Lauritz and Martha Augusta (Thoms) Johnson Sr.  He grew up in Clinton and was a 1959 graduate of Clinton High School and a 1961 graduate of Clinton Community College.  He married Jody Marilyn Jones on December 28, 1974 in Clinton, Iowa.

Einar had worked as a salesman for various companies most of his life.  He retired in 2007 from Wagner Pharmacy in Clinton.  He had lived most of his life in Clinton with the last 24 years in Sabula.

Einar was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jody Johnson of Sabula, IA; children, Jill (Brent) Andresen of Preston, IA, Melissa (Dan) Schmidt of Springbrook, IA, Scott (June) Johnson, Todd (Kristine) Johnson, Michael (JoAnn) Johnson, and David (Kim) Johnson, all of the Twin Cities; and dog daughters, Katy and Tami.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Thorsten Albert Johnson.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be directed to the Jackson County Humane Society.

Albert Sendt

Albert “Albie” Sendt, 61 of East Dubuque, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 27 2021, at Mercy One Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Thursday, September 2, 2021 at St. Mary’ Catholic Church, East Dubuque, with Fr. Dennis Vargas officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, where a parish prayer service will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the East Dubuque Volunteer Fire Dept. will meet at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. on Thursday at church.  Due to Covid 19 protocols, facemasks are required.  The Mass will be live-streamed on the MILLER FUNERAL HOME GROUP FACEBOOK PAGE.

He was born November 11, 1959 in Dubuque, son of Darrell and Marilyn Sendt.

He was a retired member of the East Dubuque Fire Department. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, where he served as an usher.

Albie worked for 14 years at the former Leibold Phillips 66 in East Dubuque and was currently employed at HyVee on South Locust St. He loved being around people at work and talking to everyone.

Albie loved taking care of his parents his whole life and loved his siblings with all his heart. He wanted to be there to help with any project they were working on. He took pride and joy in all his nieces and nephews. He was a second father to all of them. He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He also loved Nascar, especially Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.

Albie was a simple and kindhearted man. He would greet anyone with open arms. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything. He will be missed by his family, friends, community, and colleagues.

Surviving are his mother Marilyn Sendt; siblings Karen (Dennis) Schmitt, of Dubuque Patty (Guy) DeVries of East Dubuque, Donny (Jill) Sendt of Dubuque, Laura (Tim) Majerus of East Dubuque, and Dean Sendt of East Dubuque. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and the family dog Cooper.

He was proceeded in death by his father Darrell Sendt; paternal grandparents, Albert & Mary Sendt, and maternal grandparents, John & Elizabeth Blaser.
