Shirley A. Domeyer

Shirley A. Domeyer, 83, of rural Holy Cross passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross where a parish vigil service will be held at 1:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. Monday morning prior to funeral services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Holy Cross, with burial in the church cemetery at a later date.  Rev. Phil Kruse will officiate.

Shirley was born March 3, 1936, in Holy Cross the daughter of Alphonse and Anastasia (Jaeger) Stillmunkes.  She married John “Jack” Domeyer on June 3, 1958, in Holy Cross.  Together they farmed near Holy Cross.

Shirley enjoyed playing Euchre with her card club, playing Rummy with her grandchildren, and Solitaire to pass the time.  She and Jack enjoyed their Country Dance Group, and Shirley continued to carry the torch for the St. Louis Cardinals after her son, Carl, passed away.  She also enjoyed watching the birds outside of her window, crafting, quilting, her gardens and cake making.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jack, 5 children: Terry (Kim) Domeyer of Guttenberg, Dale (Jody), James, Jeff (Melissa), and Ted Domeyer, all of Holy Cross, daughter-in-law, Karen Domeyer of Manchester; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Sharon) Stillmunkes of Ankeny; in-laws:, Laverne “Bud” Domeyer of Petersburg, Mary Lou Gravel and Rita Domeyer, both of Dyersville, Doris Burlage of Monticello and Peter (Clarice) Domeyer of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Andy and Frances Domeyer, one son, Carl Domeyer in 2009; in-laws: William Domeyer, Daniel (Virginette) Domeyer, Donald “Gomer” Domeyer, Milton (Marie) Domeyer, Paul (Diane) Domeyer, Ellen Domeyer, Loras Gravel, Roland (Terese) Domeyer, James (LaVon) Domeyer and John Burlage.

Brian J. Mess

Brian Joseph “Buck” Mess, 30, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on October 14th, 2019.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 18th, 2019 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. with Father Steven Garner officiating.

He was born on June 29, 1989 in Dubuque, IA, the son of Timothy Mess and Judith (Schilling) Kroeger. He graduated from Central Alternative High School in Dubuque and on May 30th, 2013 he married Dana Ede.

Brian was currently working for John Deere in Dubuque; was a member of the UAW Local 94 and Dubuque Field Archers where he was the vice president.

Brian was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He had an infectious smile and was a great conversationalist. Above all he was a proud father, husband and son.

He is survived by his wife Dana; sons Kayden Mess, Landon Reisen and Logan Ede; his daughter Emerson Mess; his mother and stepfather Judith and Randy Kroeger; his father Timothy Mess; his sister Stacy Mess and his niece Hailey Schueller.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Dorothy Schilling.

In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund.

 


 

Gary L. Glanz

Gary L. Glanz, 70, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on April 3, 1949, in Manchester, the son of Gerald and Eileen (Straub) Glanz. Gary was raised and educated in Manchester and was a 1967 graduate of Manchester High School. He attended NIACC in Mason City, then completed his degree at the University of Dubuque in 1971.

On June 16, 1972, Gary was united in marriage to Patricia McGee at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Two sons were born to this union. After their marriage, the family lived in Burlington, Oglesby, Illinois, and Dubuque, before making their home in Manchester in 1989. Gary worked for many years at AY McDonald Manufacturing Company in Dubuque, retiring in April 2011. Gary and Patti owned and operated Glanz Landing Sports for over 20 years while he was still working in Dubuque.

Gary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He loved doing woodworking, golfing, and being outdoors. He was a true handyman who could fix anything. Gary was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Oakland Raiders fan. Family was very important to Gary and his grandchildren were especially loved by him.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Patti Glanz of Manchester; his two sons, Trevor (Valerie) Glanz and Eric (Melissa) Glanz all of North Liberty; three grandchildren, Kennedy, Stella, and Landon; one sister, Sheryl Stevens of Poulsbo, Washington; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Joe (Pat) McGee of Iowa City, Kathy (Ken) Springate of Eugene, Oregon, Tom (Sandy) McGee of Waukesha, Wisconsin, John (Laurie) McGee of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Gini (Jim) Jordan of Atlantic, Coleen (Kent) Pech of Palm Coast, Florida, and Carolyn Cannon of West Des Moines; 18 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and
-nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Eileen Glanz; and his parents-in-law, Earl and Irene McGee.

Arlene Pfalzgraf Winders Hucka

Arlene Pfalzgraf Winders Hucka of Omaha, NE died October 14, 2019. She was born on August 19, 1928.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Helen Pfalzgraf, children’s father; Roger D. Winders, son; Daniel Winders, husband; Dallas Hucka. Survived by Children; Beverly Winders, Lynn Roedell, Deborah Winders-Weis, Shelley Winders, Lisa (Mark) Garnica, Teri (Danny) Malloy, Tim Winders. Grandchildren; Chloe Winders-Singer, Lauren Parke-Ratzloff, Jennifer (Jeff) Manders, Ashli (Dan) Bonder, Shane (Becky) Conger, Tim Winders, Jamie Doughty, Olivia, Grayson and Preslie Malloy, Angela (Ryan) Schill, Dan Winders, Timmy Winders. Great grandchildren; Alexis Manders, Andrew and Lauren Conger, Jackson and Nora Schill, siblings; Beverly Wick, Bruce (Katie) Pfalzgraf, Carl Pfalzgraf.

Jill T. Lee

Jill T. (Vanderah-Shanahan) Lee, 67, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, 17th & Iowa St, in Dubuque, with Pastor John Armstrong officiating.  Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque and from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Jill was born on August 16, 1952 in Dubuque, the daughter of Melvin A. and Irma A. (Runde) Vanderah.  She was a graduate of Wahlert High School, the class of 1970.

Jill married John “Jack” Shanahan and later married Charles Lee. She was employed for 24 years at Thermolyne and retired from Sam’s Club. Jill enjoyed cooking, cleaning, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Surviving is her husband Charles Lee; two sons, Christopher (Tanya Moyle) Shanahan and Nicholas (Andrea) Shanahan and their daughter Norah, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; her siblings, Joan (Jerry) Gassman of Dubuque, Jean (Ty) Freese, and Donna Koehler both of East Dubuque, Lynn Budde of Cedar Rapids, IA, Mary Wall and Bob (Patti) Vanderah both of East Dubuque; numerous nieces and nephews; her husband’s family, Lori (Steve) Burnes, and children, Mandy, Eric, Katie, and Alex, grandkids, Colin, Karleigh, AJ and Jack; Lisa Fuehrer (Jeff) and children, Grace and Grant; Lynn Sutter( Mike) and children, Caden and Max; the  Bergman children, Meghan, Jordan, Nicholas, Ashleigh, Zachary and Keeghan, her grandchildren, Elias and Matthew; Amy Lee (Chris) and children, Isaiah, Bailey, and Kaden, and Amber (Elllis) and children, Elijah and Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Dick & Jim Vanderah, and Chuck’s daughter Lois “Annie” Bergman.

Carol A. Judge

Carol Ann Judge, 69, of Dubuque, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at her home.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2019, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road.  The Funeral Service for Carol will be 10:00 am Friday, October 18, 2019, Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Key West.

Carol was born June 26, 1950, in Dubuque, the daughter of Russell and Gloria Spensley. On August 31, 1973, she married Steve Judge in Dubuque. They later divorced.

She held various positions at McGraw-Hill Education for 20 years. She retired in December of 2011.

Carol was an eternal optimist and exuded love and joy to everyone she encountered.  She was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and looked forward to Sunday Funday with her family each weekend. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas and the 4th of July. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandsons, Jackson and Colin, who lovingly called her Mammer. She loved them to the moon and back.

Survivors include one daughter, Cortney (Nate) Kieffer of Dubuque; two grandsons, Jackson and Colin Kieffer; two brothers, Richard Spensley and Russell (Sandy) Spensley, both of  Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Lulu.

A memorial has been established for Hospice of Dubuque.

Judith A. Keeney

Judith Ann “Judy” Keeney, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at her home in Dubuque, Iowa.

A memorial service celebrating Judy’s life will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, October 19, 2019, at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa, Iowa.   There is no public visitation.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Judith Ann Clark was born on October 7, 1942 in Bellevue, Iowa, to Leonard M. and Eleanor E. (Schoop) Clark. She was a 1960 graduate of the Andrew Community High School.  She married Doug Lenhart in 1961, they later divorced.  In 1979, she married James Keeney and they later divorced.

Judy had worked at Maquoketa State Bank in the accounting department from 1979 to 1989, and then worked in real estate in Des Moines where she had entered the Million Dollar Sales Club.  She then moved to Orlando, Florida where she worked for Safeway in the accounts payable department, and lastly for DAC, Inc. in Maquoketa until retirement.

Judy enjoyed playing cards, traveling, crafts, reading and gambling.  She was known as a loving and caring person who loved her family and friends.  Her children are grateful for her guidance in their lives, and with starting them on their faith journey with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Cindy (Mike) Moss of Marion, IA, Sandy Aidukas of Orlando, FL , Julie (Ronald Delaney) Horak of Hudson, FL, and Joni (Thomas) Regan of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren, Adam, Ben, and Katie; and 2 brothers, Leonard (Patricia)Clark Jr. of AZ, and James (Patricia) Clark of WI.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jensen Keeney Campbell

Jensen Keeney Campbell, 21, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at her home.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Jensen on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, from 4 to 7 P.M. in “The Bistro” at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

Jensen Keeney Campbell was born on March 25, 1998 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Brian Keith and Michele Kathleen (McCoy) Campbell.  She grew up in Maquoketa and was a 2016 graduate of Maquoketa Community High School.  While in high school she had worked at Fareway in Maquoketa and at La Casa De Poncho Mexican Restaurant.  Upon graduation she became a full-time mom to Dawson and she loved every minute of it.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Dawson Mark Kuhlman of Oxford Junction, IA; her parents, Michele and Patrick Bronson of Maquoketa, IA, and Brian (and Fiance Dawn Dyas) Campbell of Maquoketa, IA; brothers, Nickolas (Taylor) Miller of Maquoketa, IA and Connor Hansen of Ottumwa, IA; maternal grandparents, Garlyn and Nancy Eye of Maquoketa, IA, Royce McCoy of DeWitt, IA, and Carol McCoy of Davenport, IA; paternal grandmother Linda Campbell of Maquoketa, IA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal great-grandparents, and paternal grandparents Larry and Connie Campbell.

James V. Manderscheid

James V. “Jim” Manderscheid, 74, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family.

His funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Andrew, IA, with military honors.

James V. Manderscheid was born on June 5, 1945, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to William and Marie (Kremer) Manderscheid.  He married Linda Mishler on October 5, 1969 in Maquoketa, Iowa. They later divorced.  “Jim” served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.

“Jim” had worked at Naeve Hybrid for 8 years, Reichling Oil for 14 years, and then Manderscheid Oil for 8 years.  He later joined the Maquoketa School District where he was a custodian for 10 years, and also worked as a substitute bus driver for 22 years.  “Jim” had also operated Jim’s Locksmith Service in Maquoketa for many years.

“Jim” was a member of the Timber City American Legion Post #75 and had served on the Maquoketa Fire Department for 22 years.  He enjoyed refinishing furniture, model railroading, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially the Thursday Night Gang.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Brian (Lisa) Manderscheid of Maquoketa, IA, and Paula (Chris ) Brewer of Montgomery, IL; 2 grandchildren, Lainey and Bailey Brewer; brothers, William Jr. (Leslie) Manderscheid of Parker, AZ, John (Angie) Manderscheid of Davenport, IA, and Allen Manderscheid of Roggen, CO; sisters, Judy (Robert) Feller of Bettendorf, IA, and Mary (Dennis) Clark of Maquoketa, IA; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Miles Brewer, and brothers David, Larry and Gilbert.

Laura A. Brinkman

Laura Ann Brinkman, 87, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport, IA

Her funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, October 21, 2019, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.  Burial will be at the Massillon, Iowa Cemetery.

Laura Ann Weasmer was born on October 26, 1931 in Preston, Iowa, to Burr and Minnie (Stender) Weasmer.  She was a 1949 Graduate of the Maquoketa High School.  She married Raymond “Ike” Brinkman on June 10, 1949. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2015.

Laura was a homemaker and helped her husband farm.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and playing cards.

Those left to honor her memory include a daughter, Jennie (Jeff) Davis of Maquoketa, IA; 2 grandchildren, Bryce (Danika) and Abigail (Eric); 2 great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Kamden; 4 step-grandchildren, Kim, Brian, Sandy and Sue; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother James and a sister Doris.

Carol A. Klinkhammer

Carol Ann Klinkhammer, 77, of Dubuque, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at the Dubuque Specialty Care Initiatives.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2019, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Klinkhammer will be 10:00 AM Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Church of the Resurrection with Rev. Father Tom Heathershaw as the Celebrant.

Carol was born November 29, 1941, in Dubuque, the daughter of Victor Valentine and Geraldine Pauline Feller Helling. On August 18, 1962, she married Herb Klinkhammer at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dubuque.

She worked at Artistic Cleaners, the University of Dubuque, and the Dubuque Community School District.

She was a 1960 graduate of Wahlert High School.

She was a member of Cathedral of St. Raphael and Bridge Swing Club, as well as many other bridge clubs. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Disney. She enjoyed bowling and volleyball, helping with Girl Scout cookie sales, and supporting the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. She loved to bake and to attend her grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include husband, Herb; three daughters, Sue (Mark) Dutler of Countryside, IL, Cathy (Frank) Peterson of Richmond Hill, GA, and Jill (Kurt) Tennyson of Marion, IA, eight grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Dutler, Herbie, Charis, and Calie Peterson, and Isaac, Eli, and Gus Tennyson; two brothers, Tom (Sherry) Helling and Gus (Ann) Helling, both of Dubuque; one sister, Patricia Casey of Dubuque; her in-laws, Peg Helling, Joyce Helling, Ruth Ann Heim, Tom (Deb Rooney) Klinkhammer, Jerry (Mary Jo) Klinkhammer, and Tim Klinkhammer, all of Dubuque; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and Bob, and in-laws, Tom Casey, Terry Klinkhammer, Barb and Dave Beecher, Danny Klinkhammer, Bobby Heim, and a special Aunt and Uncle, Janaan and Bob Kolf.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Patricia Ann Bartmann

Patricia Ann Bartmann, 61, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on October 11, 2019 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17th, 2019 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. with Father Steven Garner officiating.

Patricia was born on September 19, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of John and Joan (Swift) Chambers. She attended Dubuque Senior High School and worked in several nursing homes as a CNA.

She married Terry Bartmann on June 13, 2006 in Dubuque.

Patty was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church for many years and read the bible daily. She had a great sense of humor along with a big heart. She would help anyone in need and she continued that after her passing by being an organ donor.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patty is survived by her husband Terry; children, Shannon (Robert Taylor) Morrison, Jon Morrison, Andy Bartmann and Kristi (Kristen Senior) Morrison. Her grandchildren, Sabrina, Dontae, Cori, Dylan, Gavin, Hunter, Robisha, Jerob, Robiere, Robert, Dalontae, Ryder and Graham; great granddaughter Aliyah; two sisters Jane (Joe) Small and Linda (Ross) Vanderbilt; 13 nieces and nephews; step brother and step sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Chambers in 2005 and Joan (Bud) Clausen in 2006; her sister Kathy Chambers in 1963 along with her father and mother-in-law.

A Patricia A. Bartmann memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank the ICU nurses and staff at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital especially Gloria for all their wonderful care, kindness and compassion they gave.

 


 

Julia Pasker

Julia Pasker, 84, of Luxemburg, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on, Sunday, October 13, 2019 at her home in Luxemburg, Iowa.
Visitation for Julia will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. A Mass of Christian burial for Julia will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg, Iowa, with Rev. Michael J. Mescher officiating. Burial will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Luxemburg, Iowa.
Julia was born September 7, 1935, in Dyersville, IA, daughter of Herman L. and Mary H. (Puetz) Fangmann. She received her education from the rural country school in the Farley area. On October 6, 1955 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Pasker at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farley, IA. The couple farmed in rural Luxemburg. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2006.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Luxemburg, Iowa.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David Pasker of Luxemburg, IA; nieces and nephews, Shirley Foley, Edwin Feldmann Jr., Larry Feldmann, Vernon Feldmann, Gary Feldmann and Janet Watts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elmer (Norma Jean) Fangmann; four sisters, Berniece (Edmund) Bredhold, Dorothy (Gilbert) Steffan, Germaine Fangemann and Irene (Edwin) Feldmann; Nieces, Patricia Fangmann and Darlene Apfelbeck.

Cynthia (Cindy) L. Mehrl, born June 27, 1958, age 61, was reunited with her parents Martin and Shirley (Keller) Mehrl and pet dog, Molly, on Saturday, October 12, 2019. Cindy was being visited and comforted by her family members at the time of her passing.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cindy’s life at the Tri-State Community Church, 12937 Derby Grange Rd., Dubuque, from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019. Service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. Hoffman Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in care of arrangements.

Cindy was a 1977 graduate of Senior High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dubuque in 1987. Additionally, she received her degree as a registered nurse from NICC in 1996. She had a long-standing career with Finley Hospital, beginning in the Central Service Department in 1978 and ending as an Operating Room Surgical Nurse in 2008 when she became disabled.

Cindy held the essence of joy. She developed friendships that were solid and sacred. To her family, she was there in all facets of life providing support and love whenever needed. She worked hard throughout her life, initially a professional student; but, eventually her years at Finley Hospital led her to a nursing career. She was a wonderful caretaker and brought comfort to all those around her. Nursing was a perfect fit for her, and she excelled at it.

Cindy loved her family and was connected to each one in a special way. She had a unique bond with her parents, from whom she was inseparable. Her nieces and nephews were treated like they were her own. She enjoyed puzzles, going to Bingo, playing cards, and exercising at the YMCA. Her cousins Diane Mueller, LuAnn Keller, and Annie Mehrl partook of these activities with her on many occasions. She reveled in baking, decorating her house and yard, and making beautiful jewelry for those she loved.

Cindy was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2012. As the dementia set in, her playfulness and passion were unbridled. She continued to bring joy and happiness to all those that were around her, and will continue to bring a smile to our faces when memories arise.

She is survived by her siblings: Christy (Paul) Potter of Durango, IA, Cathy (Mike) Waddick of Dubuque, IA, Vicky (Tim) Close of Des Moines, IA, Gregory (Theresa) Mehrl of Pleasant Hill, IA, Randy “Bubba” (Kimmy Hicks) Mehrl of Des Moines, IA, and Lori Beireis of North Liberty, IA; her nieces and nephews, Jaime Potter, Braden (Diana) Waddick, Colin (Laura) Waddick, Austin Waddick, Aaron Waddick, Jordan (Natalie) Waddick, Connor Close, Derek Mehrl, Damon Mehrl. Dalton Mehrl, Kennedy Anderson, Jarrett Beireis, Hunter Beireis, and Gracie Beireis.

Gary Kempthorne

Gary Kempthorne, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 in Dubuque. Gary was born in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Quintin and Maude (Myers) Kempthorne, on August 17, 1937. He graduated from the University of Dubuque and served in the U.S. Army. He was the manager of Job Service of Iowa for 20 years and the owner of Gordon’s Toggery since 1969.
Gary and Dina (Dingbaum) were married on February 11, 1978 in Dubuque.
He is survived by his wife, Dina, his daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Racanelli of Western Springs, IL and Theresa (Michael) Jared of Hot Springs, AR, his grandchildren Katherine and Robert Racanelli, Emily (Hunter) James and Isabelle (Colton) Wiggins and one great grandson, Cotton James, his brother Dion (Jane) Kenpthorne, of Richland Center, WI and sister Ramona Day, of Sussex, WI; brothers-in-law Joseph (Sigrid), Robert (Beth), Paul, Tim (Diane) Dingbaum, sisters-in-law Mary Doughty and Nicolette Ellis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Norman Day, Dale Doughty and Ron Ellis.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes, there will be no public services. Private family services will be held at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road Dubuque, IA is assisting the family.
