The City of Dubuque Public Works Department is asking residents to return any yellow City recycling bins they no longer use.

The excess bins collected by public works will be distributed to new Dubuque residents, or current residents who sign up for new or additional City recycling services.

“There are any number of reasons why residents might have found themselves with extra recycling bins they no longer use,” says Interim Solid Waste Curbside Operation Manager Kenneth Miller. “We’re encouraging them to turn in those unused bins so that they can be of use to another resident.”

Residents have two options for returning unused bins:

• Drop bins off at the Municipal Services Center, 925 Kerper Ct., or
• Set out unused bins on the resident’s normal collection day during the week of Sept. 21-25, with a note saying the bin(s) can be taken.
