Arlyce A. Clapham

Arlyce A. Clapham, 88, of Peosta, Iowa passed away on December 8th, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with a rosary to be said at 2:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14th, 2023, at Holy Family Church, New Melleray with Rev. Steven Lange officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Arlyce was born on May 26th, 1935, in Earlville, IA the daughter of John and Frances (Roling) Westhoff. She married Walter Clapham on October 30th, 1951, at St. Philomena Church in Asbury, IA. They celebrated 66 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on August 8th, 2017.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish in rural Peosta and a member of its Rosary Society; she also taught religious education at Holy Family.

Arlyce devoted her entire life being a homemaker, raising her family and running the family farm. She truly loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed euchre, checkers, bingo and shopping.

She is survived by her children: Bonnie (Bill) Steines, Gary (Kathy) Clapham, Bill (Karen) Clapham, Rick (Bev) Clapham, Lynn (Ralph) Delaney, Judy (Bob) Rosenow and Nancy (Chris) Rondeau. Twenty grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; sons-in-law Robert Kloser and Father Steven Lange. Her brothers Bob (Sue) Westhoff, Jerry (Kathie) Westhoff and her sister-in-law Janet Westhoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter; daughters Karen Kloser and Kathy Lange; great grandson Thomas John “T.J.” Quinn; brothers Don (Sylvia) Westhoff, and John “Junior” Westhoff; and her sister-in-law Ida (Martin) Breitbach.
