Connie Jean (Runde) Baker, 64, of Dubuque, passed away September 24, 2026 surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Dubuque. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Connie was born on February 28, 1962 to Melvin and Mary Lou (Kersch) Runde in Dubuque, IA. She was a Senior High graduate and a University of Dubuque alumni. She married Michael Baker on October 10, 1987 and together they had three children. She worked at Mercy One for 45 years, retiring in 2024.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and daughter. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, sharing a drink with friends, traveling, playing pickleball, and watching the Bears and Hawkeyes. Connie was crafty, making wreaths for friends and family for the holidays and crocheting baby blankets for baby showers. She was deeply loved in her community.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; children Joe, Lindsey (Lucas) Ware, and Tracy (Ben) Larson; three grandchildren, Brooks and Bryson Ware, and Lucy Larson. She is also survived by her mother Marylou Runde and siblings Kathy (George) Gendron, Jim (Kathy) Runde, Joe (Kim) Runde, Dave (Barb) Runde; her in-laws Ann (Dan) Flynn, Cathy (Roy) Snyder, Sue (Tom) Crimmins, Patti (Tom) Finnegan, John Baker; lifelong friend Sandy Barklow, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Runde Jr., her mother-in-law Colleen Baker, and her father-in-law Robert Baker.
