Elaine (Sigwarth) Grygo
Elaine Grygo (née Sigwarth) passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 73 years old.
Born in Dubuque, IA, to Werner and Dolores (née Klein) Sigwarth, she resided in Dubuque, IA before settling down in East Brunswick 53 years ago.
Elaine was a Real Estate Agent for 40 years, most recently with Davis Realtor in East Brunswick. She loved her work and the people she met doing it.
In her spare time, she enjoyed the simple pleasures with family and close friends. She loved to actively encourage people during the ups and downs of their lives, often by sending greeting cards or thoughtful gifts. She was a Eucharistic Minister and active member of the St. Bartholomew Parish Family.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Werner and Dolores Sigwarth of Dubuque, IA, her husband’s parents, Chester and Helen Grygo of South River, NJ and her sister, Diane Brown of Dubuque, IA.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Ron Grygo of East Brunswick; her son, Christopher Grygo and his wife, Kathryn Stefanski, of Brooklyn, NY; her daughter, Jennifer Osborn and her husband, Jason, of Flemington; her four grandchildren, Emily Jo, Avery, Ryan and Ella; her siblings, Joyce Scherner and her husband, Paul, of Dubuque, IA, Bob Sigwarth and his wife, Linda, of Dubuque, IA, Judy Hingtgen and her husband, John, of Dubuque, IA; Tom Sigwarth and his wife, Renée, of Platteville, WI, Mary Kay Pancratz and her husband, Tim, of Dubuque, IA, Jim Sigwarth and his wife, Jan, of Dubuque, IA, Donna Nuti and her husband, Jim, of Dubuque, IA; and her brother-in-law, Phil Brown of Dubuque, IA. Elaine found great joy in her grandchildren, godchildren, nieces and nephews. Always an open and kind presence, she embraced many people as her own. Elaine maintained deep connections with her friends and chosen family. Hers was an especially big heart, and she will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, 470 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, where a Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am, under the direction of THE BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, East Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA or the St. Vincent de Paul Society of East Brunswick, NJ.
