James J. Hoyne, age 57, of Dubuque, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his home.  To honor Jim’s life private family services were held.  Entombment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.  Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street is assisting Jim’s family.

Jim was born on January 18, 1967, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Joseph W. and Shirley (Butlett) Hoyne.

Jim graduated from Hempstead High School, Class of 1985.  He was employed with the Dubuque Packing House and most recently with Mi-T-M.  Jim enjoyed getting together with his friends for some conversation and laughs always accompanied by a nice cold beer.  He also liked to spend time boating on the river and hanging out at Finley’s Landing.  Jim was a loyal friend and brother and will be greatly missed.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hoyne Sr. and Shirley (Hoyne) Schwartz; and a brother, Joseph Hoyne Jr.
