Jeffery M. LaPage

Jeffrey M. LaPage, 66, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away October 18, 2026, at UnityPoint Finley Hospital.

Private family services will be held. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

Jeffrey was born March 17, 1960, in Dubuque, Iowa. Shortly after graduating from Hempstead High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for 12 years and would often tell anyone who asked, “It was always quite the party!” Jeff’s time in the service also gave birth to the many elaborate tales he weaved and shared throughout his lifetime.

Later in life, he became a Paraprofessional at Hempstead High School. This position proved to be the highlight and absolute joy of his working career. Unfortunately, his time was cut short due to his illness.

An avid stamp collector and history lover, Jeff collected as many periodicals and books on those subjects as he could find. His greatest love of all, however, was his family.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra (Davis) LaPage; daughters, Katie (Brian) Pfeiler, Rachel (Matt) Klaren, Sarah LaPage; son, Patrick (Haley) LaPage; grandchildren Madison, William and Oliver Pfeiler, Nicholas and Natalie Klaren, and Jackson and Reign Chambers, Willow Loveday, and Rowan LaPage.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Hermann and Tony Heiar, ARNP, as well as the wonderful staff from Wendt Regional Cancer Center. Also, the doctors and nursing staff at the Iowa City VA Hospital, as well as the loving care from nurses Juliann, Abby and LuAnn on 5th floor, UnityPoint Finley Hospital.

In keeping with Jeffrey’s need to always have the last word, we leave you with this…’A gentleman was purchasing milk from his local store one evening and was asked by the checkout clerk, “Sir, would you like your milk in a bag?” The customer swiftly replied, “No thanks, the carton it’s already in is just fine thank you!”
