Patricia A. “Pat” Patterson, 83, of Dubuque, IA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 3, 2026.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. is assisting the family.

Pat was born on November 17, 1942, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Lily) Peterson. She married Tom Patterson on December 12, 1959. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2021.

Pat spent many years doing what she loved by providing in home daycare. Pat enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and spoiling them with ALL the sweets. She loved watching them grow up and supporting them in each stage of their life. Most of all she enjoyed being around family and her companion dogs, Yoshi and Daisy, who never left her side. In her younger years she enjoyed her horses.

She is survived by her children, Kim Kass, Lloyd Patterson, Dale (Dawn) Patterson, and Jim (Patty) Patterson; grandchildren: Kari (Jeff) Christianson, Mandy (Jake) Davis, Amber, Karen, Shyann, Shawna, Toni Jo, Jamie (Steven) Ward, and Jodi; 16 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother and many nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Tom; her parents, two sisters, eight brothers, and a great-granddaughter Ashly.
