Stanley J. Steinhoff

Stanley J. Steinhoff, 74, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also call from 9-10:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home before the service.
Stan was born on April 11, 1944, in Watsonville, California, the son of Beauford G. and Beulah V. (Lincicum) Steinhoff.
Stan worked in the auto parts business for nearly 55 years and owned and operated his own store for over thirty years in Platteville.
Stan loved NASCAR and collected model NASCAR cars. He enjoyed polka music and bowling. Stan was a Hall of Fame Member of the Platteville Men’s Bowling Association and a retired member of the Cuba City Fire Department. He loved and enjoyed his friends. A dedicated grandfather, family was important to Stan.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane “Sis” Steinhoff, of River Falls, WI; a son, Daniel (Deborah) Steinhoff, of Madison, WI; a very dear friend and close companion, Kathleen “Kat” Hines, of Benton; two stepdaughters, Melanie Alt and Terri (Rick) Wiegel, both of Cuba City; a stepson, Arnold “Bunker” (Linda) Alt III, of Durant, IA; two brothers, Donald (Marilyn) Steinhoff, of Cuba City, and James (Karen) Steinhoff, of Hudson, IL; seven grandchildren, McKaila and Michael Steinhoff, Justin Alt, Linzie and Logan Wiegel, and Beth and John Alt; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Stanley J. “Stan” Steinhoff Memorial Fund has been established.
