Alexander “Al” C. Tischuk, 78, of Asbury, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Hawkeye Care Center in Asbury.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Dubuque Memorial Gardens.

Al was born on September 15, 1948, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Walter and Martha (Pye) Tischuk. He graduated from Richmond High School in Richmond, Indiana, Class of 1966. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hubbard on November 27, 1969, at the United Methodist Church in Benton, Wisconsin. Al worked for the Sisters of Charity, BVM, and was a member of the Masonic Organization for many years. Al loved to play golf and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also loved to do woodworking.

Al is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Alexander (Julie) Tischuk Jr.; daughter, Mary Kay (Dennis) Buchheit; grandchildren, Rachael (Jack), Jacob, Mary Kate (Mark), and Emily; sisters, Martha Glazer and Eva Bailey; and brothers-in-law Price Glazer and Max Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, an Alexander Tischuk memorial fund has been established.
