Christine “Chris” Ann McCarthy Rahn, age 79, formerly of Monastery Road, Peosta, Iowa, passed away September 12th, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia. Chris was born in Monticello, Iowa, on April 29th, 1947.

She was the second daughter of Justin James and Alice Ethel Jones McCarthy of Peosta. Christine was a confirmed Catholic and held Holy Family New Melleray Catholic Church in Peosta close to her heart.

She was a 1965 graduate of Wahlert High School. She pursued post-high school education in administrative work and as a pharmacy technician. She worked for many years at Scientific Atlanta and at several hospitals in the Atlanta, Georgia, area.

After retirement, she dedicated herself to spending time with family and friends. Chris was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Chris enjoyed traveling, gardening, antiques and celebrating special occasions with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire her family.

Chris is survived by her children Robbie Rahn (Christy), Julie Crawley (Bobby) and David Rahn (Kathryn); her grandchildren Madison Crawley Krige (Tiaan), Brandon Crawley, Justin Rahn and her great-granddaughter Charli Krige. She is also survived by her cherished sisters Debby Andersen (Dale) and Mollie McCarthy (Scott Thomas), niece Tracey Kubik Bartoletta (her children Sofia and Jack Bartoletta), her nephew Tom Kubik and many cousins.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents Justin and Ethel McCarthy, sister Kathleen McCarthy Kubik and twin grandchildren Holly and Johnny Laser Rahn.

A graveside service will be held Thursday September 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Family New Melleray Cemetery Peosta, Iowa.
