Lukah Alan Roberts, 5 months old, was born on May 24th, 2026, and peacefully passed away in his parents’ arms on October 28th, 2026. Lukah was the beloved son of Kurtis and Sarah (Latimer) Roberts and the little brother of Liam.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th, 2026, 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, Iowa. A private burial will be held with immediate family at Rockdale United Methodist Cemetery.

From the beginning, Lukah’s journey was filled with challenges, uncertainty, and hope. He spent his life at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, where he fought harder than anyone could have imagined. Though his time here was far too short, he brought immeasurable love to everyone whose life he touched.

He is survived by his parents, Kurtis and Sarah; his big brother, Liam; his godparents, Matt and Paige Sabers; his grandparents, Tim and Cathy Latimer and Mark and Jen Roberts; his aunt and uncle, Tyler and Stephanie Smith; his cousins, Kaysen and Kollyns Smith; and his great-grandparents, Gary and Sally Roberts and Pam Hicks. He is also loved by many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear family friends.

Lukah was preceded in death by his beloved aunt Sam Latimer, whom his family takes comfort in her welcoming him into Heaven with open arms. Also, great grandparents Jim and Kay Waller, Bill and Mary Latimer and Harry Hicks.

The family would like to extend the biggest thank you to every single nurse, nurse practitioner, doctor, respiratory therapist, child life specialist and the entire care team that for 157 days went above and beyond caring for Lukah.

In lieu of plants & flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lukah’s name.
