Diane S. Mitchley
Diane Sue Mitchley was born on March 18, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa to Earl and Josephine (Wenzel) Mitchley. She spent most of her school years in Dubuque, with a few years in Phoenix, Arizona. She was married to Jack Beatty for 56 years until his death in 2020, raising seven children together mostly in Chariton, Iowa. Diane Beatty passed away on October 26, 2024 in Concord, NC, surrounded by her seven children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Diane always said God’s greatest blessings were her children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Through good times and challenges, she always said “I am the luckiest person alive” and “I would not trade my life with anyone else in the world.” Everyone who knew her–whether friends of her children, the Priest and parishioners at Sacred Heart Church, or the many neighbors she had over her life–loved and respected her. As a mother, though she had to work various jobs to make ends meet, she always put her seven children before herself and never ceased to find a way to make each one feel uniquely special.
Outside of her family, she found enjoyment in ceramics and crafting. She even opened a craft shop and sold ceramics to make extra income. She also loved a good deal–whether it be using the coupons sent to her in the mail, going to garage sales or going to “her store” (Salvation Army) on Tuesdays for the Senior Citizen 30% off day. She drank her Pepsi until her final days, even once stating when offered a drink to put it “on continuous flow”.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Children Randy (Terri), Lisa (Dave), Dave (Linda), Dan (Pattie), Sue (Dale), Kelly (Steve), and Doug. Grandchildren Josh (Beth), Emma (Cale), Ryan (Gianna), Erin, Kayleigh (Kevin), Taylor, Kenzie, Maya, Jenna (Mat), Braden, Skyler (Allisen), and Hannah (Nigel). Great grandchildren, Bowen, Louie, Bodhi, Bayleigh, Penelope, and Leon Jack. Also surviving her is a brother, Tom (Pat) Mitchley, and special nieces Tricia, Lori, Karie and Jolene.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Josephine (Wenzel) Mitchley, husband Jack, infant daughter Mari Jo, granddaughter Bailey Alexandra, and grandson Christoffer Joseph.
Our beloved mother will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque Iowa, where the family will have a private burial. Cards to the family can be sent to her daughter, Sue Rea, 3124 Pridemore Dr., Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613. If you send a card, we would love it if you would share how you knew our mother and any fond memories. Please send any memorials to St. Jude’s Hospital or Sacred Heart Church in Chariton, Iowa–two organizations very close to Mom’s heart.

Linda D. Davis
Linda D. Davis, age 72, of Dubuque, IA, completed her earthly journey on October 26, 2024, at home, while surrounded by her loving family. To honor Linda’s life, a private family service is being held. The Tri-State Cremation Center is humbly serving Linda’s family.
Linda was born on December 11, 1951, in Dubuque, IA, a daughter to Carl L. and Charlene A. (Dunkley) Davis. She was gifted with a spirit of courage and found great joy in always being a little ahead of the curve in many areas in her life. Linda spent the first 15 years of her working years with the Dubuque Packing Co., but eventually began working as an interior/exterior painter for a few years while perfecting her wallpapering talents too. In time she decided to stretch her entrepreneurial wings and opened her first business, the Crescent Moon Coffee Shop. She thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the regulars there and in time opened her second business, Storefront Flea Market where she was able to combine her work ethic with her passions. Linda retired in 2019, but always looked back on all of her accomplishments with fondness as she laid the groundwork for so many women to follow in the generations to follow.
Linda also embraced life to the fullest whenever possible and surely understood that all work and no play can be a deafening approach to real joy in this life. You could easily find her cruising down the road on her motorcycle on a nice day, but just as easily taking her chances at the poker table to see who truly possessed the skills to win that game. She had an affinity for antiques as well and never passed up on a unique treasure when it came across her path. But, for those who knew and loved Linda best, her greatest joy was in the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother till the very end and the memories she leaves behind now will only help to heal the pain of her loss for those around her. Thank you, Linda, for leading with boldness and bravery each step of the way and may we strive to carry on your legacy in our lives as well. We will love you and miss you until the end of our days and may the Lord keep you secure in His loving arms until we all meet again.
Those left to cherish the memory of Linda include,
her three children,
Kelly Simon Hoffmann, Dubuque, IA,
Brooke (Luke) Tigges, East Dubuque, IL,
and Chad (Amanda) Simon, Wisconsin Rapids, WI;

Georgia was born on January 9, 1935, in Mystic, IA, daughter of Stanley and Helen (Puda) Glaub, first generation Polish immigrants. She attended Mystic High School and Centerville Junior College.
Georgia was introduced to Fred Wallace in 1955 on a blind date, which followed with a quick proposal of engagement and then marriage on November 26, 1955. They celebrated almost 68 years of marriage together before his passing on Veteran’s Day in 2023. Georgia and Fred raised two children together in a loving home, always surrounded by wonderful family and friends.
Georgia was employed as a teacher at Durant Elementary School, worked at Modern Woodmen of America in Rock Island and also spent many years as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and loved crafting, quilting, and sewing. Georgia was famous for her cinnamon rolls, homemade potato salad and green beans with bacon that brought family and friends together at her table. Many babies were kept warm and snug by her hand-knit booties and soft flannel blankets. Georgia and Fred spent many years in the backyard working in their garden and caring for the neighborhood birds and squirrels. She found enjoyment in all seasons of the year, with a particular fondness for fall and Halloween.
Surviving is a son Dan (Paige) Wallace and 4 grandchildren: Abigail, Owen, Eva and Aiden.
In addition to her husband Fred, she was preceded in death by her son Andrew, parents, and siblings: Mary Brophy, Frank Glaub, Stanley Glaub and Valerie Walker.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Stonehill Care Center, Hospice and Palliative Care of Dubuque, the staff at Resurrection Church, and all of her dear friends throughout her life.
