Deanna S. Sprosty
Deanna Sue Sprosty, 79, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 16, 2026, at the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Deanna Sue Sprosty was born on July 18, 1947, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Everett Leroy and Kathryn May (Kingsley) Kelly. She grew up in Maquoketa and was a 1964 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She continued her education at AIC in Davenport. On September 17, 1966, she married Robert L. “Bob” Sprosty in Davenport, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, Michael Robert, Christopher Adam, and Michele Elizabeth.
Deanna devoted many years of her life to her work. After completing college, she began a long career as an administrative assistant with Alcoa in the Quad Cities, where she worked from 1965 until her retirement in 2003.
Outside of her career, Deanna enjoyed a life filled with simple pleasures. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. She also found great enjoyment in playing bridge with friends.
Family was at the center of Deanna’s life, and she cherished the bonds she shared with those closest to her. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Michael Robert Sprosty of Orefield, PA, Christopher Adam Sprosty of Bettendorf, IA, and CAPT (ret) Michele (and her husband Robert “Ross” Carron) Sprosty of Norfolk, VA; 2 grandchildren, Jacob (Genice) Sprosty and Ava Carron; and brothers, Donald Kelly of Maquoketa, IA, and Roger Kelly of Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Robert “Bob” Sprosty on April 8, 2020.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 P.M., Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 1 to 2 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa.
